Dr Lawrence Tan - Senior Lecturer and Researcher

Dr Lawrence Tan is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Medicine at Western Sydney University, and a general practitioner in a culturally diverse region in Sydney. Prior to this he spent a number of years working in primary care and training GP registrars in South America. He is interested in cultural diversity in primary care and is currently researching how this impacts on colorectal cancer survivorship in different migrant groups, in the life experiences of children and families from diverse backgrounds who have undergone paediatric cardiac surgery, and in the training of medical students and registrars in general practices where different languages are spoken during consultations.
